Walking away with a huge smile on my face
In September 2021, OutsideClinic launched a new employee well-being strategy in a mission to be the best place to work in optics and audiology.
The Cirencester-based programme, Tasting Colours, was introduced to support the health and well-being of the team. To date, 132 people have taken part in the 'life-changing' programme, with colleagues saying how the approach to wellness is a 'breath of fresh air and a reset towards positivity' and recommending it to others within the business.
We hear from assistant optical commercial manager, Simona Ciorba who took part in the programme in July/August 2022 after seeing it advertised on the company intranet. Simona could take part in person and plan her working day around the 1-hour meeting sessions in the local pub, and she always left each session with a huge smile on her face (no wine drinking was involved).
"I enjoyed all aspects of the programme; it was great to talk things through but also go away and reflect on different things we had discussed. The programme has given me coping strategies to help me to deal with day-to-day difficulties both at work and in my personal life, and it certainly helps us be more resilient, which can only be beneficial in current times,
"Tasting Colours is a great fit for OutsideClinic. Since our acquisition by Optimism Health Group, we have grown and grown, and you can tell that the company cares more about our well-being and that this is considered in everyday interactions. Mental health is essential, and a programme like Tasting Colours is a great option for my colleagues and me."
