Ian McKendrick
With over 24 years in audiology, Ian McKendrick has dedicated his career to helping those with hearing loss. Starting as a trainee audiologist, he gained expertise at the Glasgow School of Audiology and spent 22 years in hospitals, eventually becoming Chief Audiologist for Adult Services.
Ian joined OutsideClinic in 2014 and has spent the past 10 years making a significant impact in domiciliary care. He finds fulfillment in seeing the joy on patients’ faces when they regain their hearing and values the unique opportunities that domiciliary care provides. His journey from aspiring brain surgeon to audiology expert reflects his deep commitment to patient care and his adaptability in the field.
“The best thing about working at OutsideClinic is that you’re in a domiciliary environment. You can use the patient’s surroundings, like their home, to make real-time adjustments. That in itself is priceless.”

Working in beautiful parts of the country, like Cheddar Gorge, and getting to experience those places while helping people—it’s a unique and rewarding experience.
