Learning, growing and building careers
At OutsideClinic, we believe in investing in people. Whether you're starting out in your career, changing direction, or looking to gain hands-on experience while learning - an apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to develop skills while making an impact.
We spoke to some of our apprentices in finance, IT and audiology about their experiences, what they've learned so far and how they're growing their careers.

From scheduling to finance - Jacob's story
For Jacob Payne, stepping into an apprenticeship wasn't just about gaining a qualification - it was about pursuing a career he's passionate about.
"I was already working in the scheduling team while studying for my accounting exams on my own. When the finance apprenticeship was offered, I jumped at the chance to continue working at OutsideClinic while gaining experience in a field that I love," said Jacob.
Since moving into the finance team, Jacob has been learning the ins and outs of financial processes, including reconciling payments and refunds.
"I've already gained a strong understanding of our accounting software and I'm looking forward to exploring more advanced areas like Sage Intacct. It's exciting to see how finance plays a role in the bigger picture of how the company operates."

A hands-on IT career - Alex's story
For Alex Rolfe, an apprenticeship in IT was the perfect way to turn her passion into a career.
"I've always been fascinated by IT and technology, but I never had the opportunity to formally pursue it. When I saw the apprenticeship role, I knew it was the perfect chance to gain hands-on experience and build a strong foundation in IT," said Alex.
Alex's role in IT support involves helping people with technical issues, handling equipment and assisting with system maintenance.
"A typical day is always varied - I answer calls from team members, troubleshoot problems and set up new equipment for those starting with the company.
"I've even had the chance to take apart a laptop to understand its internal components, which was fascinating."
One of the highlights of her apprenticeship so far was helping with a major office floor move, where she gained experience in networking, server management and hardware setup.
"It was a great mix of technical learning and hands-on work. I've learned more than I ever expected in just a few months and the support from my team has been fantastic."

Career progression in audiology
We're proud to offer apprenticeships within our audiology team - providing a pathway for career progression.
For Ashley, he was seeking new opportunities for growth when he joined us, after spending 12 years in a role with minimal progression.
"Having the opportunity to gain a professional qualification and having a company believe in me has been a great feeling. The support from my colleagues has been invaluable, and having protected study time built into my role has made a real difference," said Ashley.
For Sam, the journey into audiology began over a decade ago within OutsideClinic.
"I transferred into audiology 10 years ago as my career progressed. The company sponsored me through the course - supporting my clinical development. It's been challenging but incredibly rewarding," said Sam.

Each of our apprentices shares a common theme - support, hands-on learning and real career progression. Whether it's finance, IT or audiology, they've had the opportunity to gain valuable work experience, work alongside experts and develop skills that will shape their futures.
"An apprenticeship with OutsideClinic is a great way to build your career. The company makes sure you feel comfortable, supported and invested in your success." - Alex
