Location: Head office, Swindon
Salary: £60-70k
Bonus: Performance related bonus scheme
Hours: Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week

OutsideClinic was founded in 1987 and now provides over 100,000 ‘at home’ eye tests and 10,000 at home hearing tests each year. The business has revenues of £40m and employs 300 people. The business provides services to the 75+ age group, that find it challenging to visit the high street.
We are on a significant growth journey, expanding our reach and strengthening our network of referral and commercial partnerships to improve access to care for those who need it most.
Job Summary
This is a high impact leadership role for an ambitious, commercially driven individual who sits just below Director level and above regional Business Development Manager positions.
As Head of Business Development, you will take ownership of our partnership growth strategy and play a key role in building a scalable commercial function. You will combine hands on deal making with the leadership of a small field based team, shaping how we grow our referral network across multiple sectors.

Principal Accountabilities
Customer Partnership Strategy and Growth
· Define and deliver the overall customer partnership and business development strategy aligned to commercial growth priorities
· Identify, target and secure new strategic partnerships across key sectors including optics, hearing, pharmacy, charities and related markets
· Build a scalable pipeline of partnership opportunities, ensuring a consistent flow of new business development activity
· Shape the long term approach to referral growth and partnership expansion across the business
Delivery and Management
· Personally lead high value and strategic partnership conversations from initial engagement through to signed agreement
· Oversee the end to end delivery of partnership activity, ensuring effective onboarding and activation of new partners
· Drive growth in referral volumes through structured account development and relationship management
· Ensure consistent execution of partnership activity across your team and wider stakeholders
Ownership and Performance Reporting
· Own all key performance metrics across the partnership function including new partnerships, referral volumes and revenue contribution
· Maintain clear visibility of pipeline performance, conversion rates and forecast accuracy
· Provide regular reporting and insight to senior leadership on performance trends, risks and opportunities
· Use data driven insight to prioritise activity and optimise commercial outcomes
Leadership and Stakeholder Management
· Lead, coach and develop a small field based Business Development Manager team, setting clear expectations and driving a high performance culture
· Act as a senior commercial voice within the organisation, contributing to broader growth discussions and decision making
· Build strong cross functional relationships with operations, clinical and marketing teams to ensure successful delivery of partnerships
· Represent the business externally at industry events, conferences and key partner meetings
Continuous Improvement
· Continuously review and refine the partnership strategy based on performance insight and market feedback
· Identify opportunities to improve conversion rates, partner engagement and referral performance
· Introduce best practice approaches to business development, account management and partnership growth
· Support the evolution of tools, processes and reporting to improve efficiency and effectiveness across the function
About You
You are a commercially focused business development professional who thrives in fast paced, growth driven environments. You enjoy both shaping strategy and being close to delivery, with a strong bias towards building relationships and closing opportunities.
You are confident operating with autonomy, comfortable engaging senior stakeholders, and motivated by clear commercial outcomes. You combine strong relationship building skills with a disciplined, target driven approach
You will likely bring:
· Proven experience in business development, partnerships or commercial growth roles
· Confidence managing complex relationships and longer sales cycles
· Experience working in or leading field based or externally facing teams
· Strong influencing skills with the ability to engage at senior level
· A self starting, results driven mindset with strong commercial awareness
· Experience mentoring or supporting others would be an advantage
Experience in healthcare, optical, hearing, pharmacy or charity sectors would be beneficial but is not essential.
